Now Hiring: Couples Therapist (MFT, LPC, LCSW, LSATP) (1099 Contractor)
Location: Reston, Virginia (Hybrid – In-Person & Remote)

Compensation: Percentage based (above average percentage split)

Northern Virginia Couples Counseling is seeking a dedicated fully licensed therapist (LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LSATP) to join the private practice as a 1099 contractor.

A little bit about the practice:

Hi, I’m Stefania, and as the owner of Northern Virginia Couples Counseling, I’m passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality psychotherapy to individuals and couples across the DMV. My work often focuses on supporting clients through life’s most challenging moments—healing after infidelity, transitioning into parenthood, and making tough decisions about the future of their relationships. As my practice is growing, I am looking to add at least one other therapist who can bring their expertise and unique approach to new and existing clients.

As a fellow clinician, I want any therapist who works here to experience a supportive and flexible environment. I understand the importance of work-life balance, which is why I offer options like in-person sessions on weekends and virtual appointments during weekday evenings. My goal is to give both clients and clinicians the flexibility they need to thrive. As a 1099 contractor, you will have the freedom to make your own schedule, set your own rates, and conduct therapy either virtually and/or in person (on weekends) - with as much or as little feedback or hands-on support from me as you need/want. I am looking for a clinician who:

Has a strong interest in working with couples and relationships. Topics that often come up in the couples context include: infidelity trauma, substance use disorders in the context of the couple, eating disorders, and anger issues/emotion regulation

Is willing to conduct 10 or more sessions per week (a standard session is 50-minutes).
Values professional development and clinical collaboration

Is open to hybrid (virtual and in person sessions): weekend office space in Reston will be provided if the clinician wants to see clients in person.

Receive referrals from an established practice: you will be in charge of any overflow referrals the practice receives. This includes scheduling any initial phone consultations with potential clients as well as scheduling your clients as you see fit.
You will have the freedom to set your own hours and work independently with full administrative support (most administrative work besides clinical note taking will be taken care of for you).

This means that you will receive as much support as needed in order to keep you focused on clinical issues/topics, and not worry about tedious administrative duties.

Qualifications:

Licensed in Virginia (LMFT, LSATP LCSW, PsyD, LPC, or equivalent)
For any virtual sessions you will need your own laptop, and office space. If you want to see clients in person on weekends, office space is available to you in Reston, VA.
