Meet your therapist

Stefania Gheorghiu (She/Her)

Stefania Gheorghiu, LCMFT

Adopted from Romania and raised in the U.S from the age of 6, I have a perspective unique to many first and second generation Americans. Adapting to a new language and culture shaped my understanding of belonging, resilience, and identity. Now, as part of a globally mobile family myself, I bring both personal insight and professional expertise to supporting those navigating life across countries and cultures.

Clinically, I support clients through significant life changes, including international moves, career shifts, parenthood, grief, and relationship crossroads. I work with anxiety, depression, ADHD symptoms, and experiences of loss, abandonment, and betrayal. I also support individuals and couples impacted by substance use or those reassessing their relationship with alcohol or drugs.

With couples at any stage - dating, premarital, long-term partnership, or contemplating separation - I'm especially passionate about helping partners rebuild trust and intimacy after infidelity. Cross-cultural relationships bring unique strengths and stressors, my aim is to approach your dynamic with humility and curiosity.

I believe authenticity and transparency is vital to our work together. As my primary concern is to create a safe space for you to address uncomfortable and complex topics, I welcome any questions you may have about me, my practice, and my values to ensure that I'm a good fit for your needs. I look forward to connecting with you!
